Youth counselling in Invermere and online
Growing up is a lot, and sometimes it’s hard for a young person to talk to the adults closest to them. Counselling gives youth ages 11 and up a space of their own, with someone who listens without judging.
What youth come in for
Sometimes there’s no clear reason. That’s okay too.
Support for parents
Sometimes the most helpful step is support for you. If your child is anxious, struggling, or not ready for counselling, a counsellor can help you understand what’s going on and how to respond. Cassidy Thind offers SPACE, a parent-focused approach for anxious kids and teens.

How youth counselling works
Getting started
The first session often includes a parent or caregiver, so everyone understands how counselling works and what to expect. After that, sessions are usually one-on-one with the young person, at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
What stays private
Counsellors keep most of what a young person shares private, which helps them feel safe enough to open up. They’ll share something only if someone’s safety is at risk, and they explain this to both youth and parents at the start.
