Psychological assessments in Invermere and online

An assessment can help you understand what’s going on, put a name to it where that fits, and get practical recommendations for what may help. Assessments are offered by Alana Cotterall, Registered Psychologist, with some appointments available online.

Assessments

How assessments work

  • Inquiry: a short secure form about what you’d like to understand. Brief answers are fine.
  • Your plan: Alana confirms whether the assessment fits, the proposed scope and the estimated fee, in writing, before anything is booked.
  • Interview and questionnaires: plus testing where it’s needed. Some appointments can be online.
  • Written findings: Alana brings everything together into a report or letter, in the format agreed at the start.
  • Feedback: a meeting to go through the findings, any diagnosis, and recommendations, with time for your questions.

Not ready for a full assessment? A single consultation session ($225) offers guidance on your concerns or on screening results, without a full assessment. It doesn’t produce a diagnosis or formal report.

Many extended health plans cover assessments by a Registered Psychologist, sometimes with limits. Check your plan; receipts are provided. Assessments aren’t covered by MSP.

Yes. As a Registered Psychologist, Alana can make a diagnosis when the findings support one. Not every assessment leads to a diagnosis, though. Whatever the findings, you’ll get a clear explanation and recommended next steps.

No. You can contact Alana directly, or a doctor or counsellor can refer you.

These need separate consideration. Mention the purpose in your inquiry so Alana can let you know whether she can help.
