At Hearthstone Counselling we offer a practicum program that provides students with extensive training and experience in counselling, all while offering clients a reduced rate option.
Our practicum students are Master's level students who have completed extensive coursework and training in counselling theory and techniques. They bring a diverse range of skills and perspectives to their work with clients, and are supervised by experienced counsellors who hold a Master's degree or higher in counselling or a related field.
We understand that finding affordable counselling services can be a challenge, which is why we offer our practicum program at a reduced rate. This allows our clients to access high-quality counselling services at a price that fits their budget.

Cassidy is a passionate counselling psychology student currently completing her practiucm as part of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Program at Yorkville University. If you are seeking a compassionate and empathetic counsellor to support you on your journey of self-discovery, growth and healing, Cassidy would be honored to walk alongside you.
Cassidy's professional journey has allowed her to workin diverse roles in the mental health community. She has had the privilege of supporting families through challenging transitions, conflict resolution and navigating trauma and parenting. Additionally Cassidy is experienced in providing guidance and support to children and their families in important developmental milestones and overcoming obstacles. Cassidy has also worked extensively and collaboratively with young individuals to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies and foster personal growth through various ages and stages.
In addition to her professional pursuits Cassidy is a mother of three beautiful children. Her personal experiences as a mother have provided her with a deep-rooted understanding of the many joys, challenges, and complexities that come along with the transition into parenting for each member of the family.
Cassidy's therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, compassion and connection. As a counselling psychology student, Cassidy draws primarily from a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens with the understanding that early childhood experiences and trauma provide a scaffold to our lives. She believes that connection and a sense of belonging are core innate needs and pulls from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to enhance inner feelings of safety and security with our own thoughts and emotions. Cassidy also utilizes a person-centred approach rooting her practice in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as mindfulness-based modalities. Additionally, Cassidy uses Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) modalities for individuals ready to explore change. Cassidy recognizes the importance of building a trusting and empathetic therapeutic relationship, where clients can feel safe as she holds a non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences.
Cassidy is a LGBTQIA2S+ friendly counsellor who provides a safe, inclusive space for every individual. Cassidy is also experienced in navigating cross-cultural issues, and strives to incorporate cultural humility, sensitivity, and competence in her approaches.

Cori is a dedicated and compassionate student of counselling currently on the rewarding journey of completing her Masters of Education in School Counselling. With a passion for person-centered approaches and solution-focused therapy, Cori excels in building strong therapeutic relationships that empower her clients to thrive.
Cori's academic journey has been diverse and enriching. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, which has given her a unique perspective on problem-solving and strategic thinking. Her Bachelor's degree in Education further equipped her with invaluable skills in communication and understanding diverse learning needs. Currently enrolled in the Masters of Education School Counselling Program at City University in Canada, Cori seamlessly integrates her previous education with her counselling studies. This synergy of knowledge allows her to offer a well-rounded and holistic approach to her clients. Her professional journey has been marked by versatility. From teaching in a middle school setting to her background in business management, Cori brings a wealth of experience to her counselling practice. Her time in middle school education provided her with insight into the challenges faced by young minds, enabling her to connect with students on a profound level.
