Life has many ups and downs. There are moments when life is amazing, awful and even mundane. Therapy can be a place to help you hold on through the awful, celebrate the amazing and break up the mundane. My great passion is helping clients through all of life’s moments to find their inner strength and live life more fully and authentically.
I help my clients to learn how to establish healthy boundaries, find compassion for themselves and strengthen their relationships. I believe it is important to collaborate with clients as they are the experts in their own lives and hold the wisdom for change within.
As a therapist, I firmly believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. That's why I draw from a range of modalities, including EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy, somatic resourcing, parts work, interpersonal therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, art therapy, and narrative therapy. By tailoring my approach to the unique needs and experiences of each individual client, I am able to provide personalized care that is both effective and empowering.
One of the key principles of my approach is the mind-body connection. I believe that our physical and emotional experiences are deeply interconnected, and that accessing inner resources and wisdom is an important part of the healing process. By helping clients tap into their own innate wisdom, I aim to create a sense of empowerment and autonomy that can be carried forward into all aspects of their lives.
Another essential aspect of my approach is honoring the client's choices and experiences. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment in which clients feel free to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I believe that every individual is the expert on their own life, and that by working collaboratively, we can create meaningful and sustainable change.
I approach each client from an attachment-based framework. This means that I recognize the profound impact that early attachment experiences can have on an individual's sense of self and relationships with others. By working to understand and heal the attachment wounds that may be present, I aim to help clients develop a more secure and grounded sense of self. This, in turn, can lead to healthier and more fulfilling relationships, both with others and with themselves. By providing a safe and supportive environment in which clients can explore their attachment history and work through any related issues that may be impacting their lives, I am able to help them achieve greater levels of insight, healing, and growth. Ultimately, my goal is to help each client develop a stronger and more resilient sense of self, so that they can live more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Above all, my approach to counselling is grounded in the core values of acceptance, unconditional positive regard, and empathy. I believe that these values are essential to building a strong therapeutic relationship, and that by fostering a warm, caring, and non-judgmental environment, I can help clients achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives.
