Melanie is a registered social worker and has completed her Master of Counselling degree through Yorkville University. She is a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
She has several years of experience working in non-profit organizations within the helping profession through her various roles as an youth outreach clinician, early years coordinator and counsellor.
Melanie has a passion for supporting families and individuals meet the challenges of life. She believes in the power of connection and that the therapeutic relationship can offer an open, non-judgmental space to explore some of life's more difficult moments and journeys. Melanie works from a person-centered approach to counselling that highlights strengths and works with clients to develop goals that meet their ideal wellbeing.
Melanie is trained in EMDR and play therapy and also utilizes solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy and narrative therapy.
