Kristi is available to meet with clients online.
Kristi (she/her) is an adoptive mama, and knows how disconnecting and hard life can be at times. Her passion is to help people feel connected and find a spark of hope again, drawing on principles from attachment theory, humanistic psychology, and trauma-informed practices to guide her. She firmly believes that we all have what is necessary to thrive in life, we just sometimes need support and someone to remind us of who we are.
Kristi holds a Bachelor of Religious Education, with experience in both church and the non-profit sector. After serving as a director of youth services at an afterschool drop-in center, Kristi transitioned to adoptive motherhood. From this experience she gained a wealth of knowledge in attachment and trauma-informed practices. Kristi is passionate about helping people understand and overcome the impacts of traumatic experiences. She desires to create a safe, empowering space to support healing and growth.
Kristi takes a person-centered approach, believing that each person is the expert on their own lives. She desires to help clients regulate, form deeper attachments, and disrupt negative patterns of thinking/relating. Kristi prefers an integrative approach, combining various techniques from different approaches to best fit the client. She utilizes both bottom-up approaches, like mindfulness and somatic body awareness, to help clients get in tune with what their bodies might be telling them, and top-down approaches like emotional processing and thought journalling, to help clients get in tune with their patterns of thinking/feeling. Kristi is dedicated to creating an affirming, culturally sensitive, and inclusive space for all people.
