Adult ADHD assessments in Invermere and online

Maybe you’ve always struggled with focus, follow-through or keeping up with everyday demands, and wondered whether ADHD is part of the picture. An adult ADHD assessment explores whether ADHD fits, considers what else might be going on, and gives you practical recommendations either way.

What the assessment includes

  • Clinical and developmental interviews
  • Questionnaires about attention, executive functioning and related concerns
  • Input from someone who knows you well, with your permission
  • Review of past records, like report cards or earlier assessments, if available
  • A feedback appointment and written findings

Common tools include a structured adult ADHD interview (DIVA-5), rating scales such as the CAARS 2, and brief executive functioning and cognitive testing if needed.

Not ready for a full assessment? A single consultation session ($225) offers guidance on your concerns or on screening results, without a full assessment. It doesn’t produce a diagnosis or formal report.

How it works

  1. Inquiry form: a few brief questions about what you hope to learn.
  2. Your plan and fee: confirmed in writing before booking, taking your goals and budget into account.
  3. Clinical interview: about 1–2 hours, sometimes over more than one appointment.
  4. Questionnaires: for you, and with your permission, someone who knows you.
  5. Written findings: usually about 3–4 weeks after everything is received.
  6. Feedback: about an hour to go through the findings, any diagnosis and recommendations.

Why an assessment, not just a screener?

A screener flags. An assessment explains.
Online quizzes and screening questionnaires are useful for noticing patterns worth looking into, but they can’t diagnose ADHD. Many things look like ADHD on a questionnaire, including anxiety, depression, trauma, poor sleep, burnout and some medical conditions. A full assessment looks at your history from childhood onward, how things show up across different parts of your life, and what else might explain your difficulties, so the answer you get is one you can trust.

What the fee covers.
Most of the work happens outside your appointments. Alongside the interviews and feedback, Alana scores and interprets questionnaires, reviews records and information from others, weighs other possible explanations, and writes up findings and recommendations you can share with your doctor, school or workplace. The fee reflects that time, which is why it’s confirmed in writing, based on the scope you need, before anything is booked.

Fees and practical details

  • Estimated fee: $900–$1,800, depending on the work needed and the level of written detail. Your estimate is confirmed before booking.
  • Online or in person: interview and feedback appointments may be online or in person, depending on your plan.
  • Medication: Alana doesn’t prescribe medication. With your permission, your findings can be shared with your family doctor or psychiatrist.

Registered Psychologist

Many extended health plans cover assessments by a Registered Psychologist, sometimes with limits. Check your plan; receipts are provided.

It doesn’t guarantee a diagnosis. Whether or not ADHD is diagnosed, you’ll get an explanation of what’s contributing to your difficulties and recommendations.

Often, yes. Mention this in your inquiry, with any specific requirements, so the written format meets your needs.

That’s common. Let Alana know, and she’ll discuss how to proceed.

For children and youth, ADHD is assessed as part of a psychoeducational assessment →
