Neurofeedback and regulation support in Invermere

Regulation support, sometimes called neuroregulation, uses LENS neurofeedback to help your nervous system settle, with biofeedback coming in 2027. It can sit alongside counselling with any therapist.

Who it may help

Always on alert

A body that won’t settle

Hard to switch off

Busy mind, restless sleep

Foggy or scattered

Hard to think clearly

Therapy feels stuck

Your body isn’t catching up

Who comes: people come to regulation support with many different backgrounds, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression and trauma. The focus is on how your nervous system feels day to day, not on a diagnosis.

What it isn’t: neurofeedback isn’t a replacement for counselling or medical care, and it isn’t a quick fix. It’s a tool that may help your nervous system settle, so the rest of your work feels steadier.

What a session feels like

  • Sit comfortably: no screens, nothing to learn or do
  • Small sensors: placed gently on your scalp
  • A few seconds at a time: of very gentle feedback
  • Notice: how you feel over the next few days

LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) reads your brainwaves and sends back a very small signal, a tiny fraction of what a cell phone gives off. Most people feel nothing during the session; some feel more relaxed or tired afterwards.

Biofeedback (coming in 2027): biofeedback helps you see your body’s stress signals in real time and practise calming them. It will be added as another option for regulation support.

No, but regulation support often works well alongside counselling, with any therapist.

It varies. There’s no set program; you and Alana check in along the way, and you can stop when you’re feeling well enough.

Most people feel nothing during a session. Some notice feeling calmer, more tired or more emotional in the day or two after.

Yes. Youth are welcome, and a parent or caregiver usually joins the intake session so everyone knows how it works.

Sessions with a Registered Psychologist are often covered under psychology benefits. Check your plan.
